Free and charitable clinics play a vital role in safeguarding the state’s low-income population by providing comprehensive health care for those who would otherwise go without. Free clinics are volunteer-driven, community supported nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing no or low-cost quality healthcare to the uninsured.
A solid investment of resources for greater healthcare impact, our member clinics leveraged a collective operating budget of $49 million in the past year into $114 million worth of care – made possible through collaborative partnerships, in-kind support and the generosity of volunteers as well as a generous state appropriation which the VAFCC administers and disperses directly to member clinics for care provided to uninsured adult patients.
